Travel Portraits - HOW TO

Portrait is a representation of a person. It can be expressions of face, personality / character, environment where the person live / work etc, A Travel Portraits also represent the place. These can be captured in different way / technique.
I would like to share some of the tips / technique which I follow while I take travel portraits. These are apart from approaching & interacting with people and camera gear. Hope it will be useful for others too.

Most of the time, I shoot with Aperture Priority with exposure lock, For me, it is quite useful and quicker than manual mode. If the light condition is very difficult or any creative exposure, then I will switch to manual mode. I don’t always go for wider aperture (like 1.4 / 1.8 / 2.8). Most of my pictures, I try to close the aperture (f5.6 to f8 or even more) to get more details. Light is very important to capture any photographs and esp. for portraits. We can use available ambient light or artificial light. All the examples given here are taken with ambient light only.
